TOBY Gold Circle Award Gala
Held annually in February.
The TOBY Gold Circle Awards Gala is a favorite among our members—it’s a night that brings the entire industry together. While our members compete, this event is about shared pride in our collective achievements.
As the year's first major event, the gala draws more than 600 commercial real estate leaders and decision-makers. We come together to recognize the best of the best in Chicago’s industry, presenting two of our most prestigious honors:
- The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards, celebrating excellence in building operations and management.
- The Gold Circle Awards, recognizing individual achievement and leadership across our profession.
Diversity Celebration
Held annually in April.
The BOMA/Chicago Foundation’s Diversity Celebration is its flagship event—bringing together industry professionals to reflect on the Foundation’s impact, celebrate progress, and raise critical funds for its scholarship, mentoring, and outreach programs.
Open to both members and non-members, this gathering draws more than 500 attendees each year. It serves as a platform to honor the accomplishments of Foundation scholars and program graduates, and to spotlight the year’s recipient of the Reginald L. Ollie Inclusion and Outreach Scholarship—a highlight of the evening that includes a personal speech from the honoree.
Since its founding in 2006, the Ollie Scholarship has played a pivotal role in advancing diversity and inclusion within Chicago’s commercial real estate industry. This event ensures that the mission continues.
Women In CRE Luncheon
Held annually in May.
One of our newest annual traditions, the Women in Commercial Real Estate Luncheon has quickly become a standout event—bringing together professionals from across the industry to connect, share stories, and celebrate women.
At the heart of the luncheon is the presentation of the Elizabeth Traczek Women in Commercial Real Estate Award, affectionately known as “The Betsy.” Named in honor of Betsy Traczek—a dedicated BOMA/Chicago leader who gave tirelessly to the organization—this award recognizes women who have made a lasting impact on our industry and community.
With an inspiring program and growing attendance each year, the Women in CRE Luncheon reflects our commitment to recognizing excellence, uplifting voices, and building a more inclusive commercial real estate industry.
Summer Civic Social
Held annually in June or July.
The Summer Civic Social offers a relaxed, after-hours setting for members to engage with civic partners, government officials, and peers across the industry. Hosted by our Emerging Leader Committee, this event blends casual networking with meaningful conversation—complete with cocktails, appetizers, and summer vibes.
What makes this event stand out is the opportunity it creates for dialogue around the policies and advocacy efforts that impact our industry. It’s an evening where connections are made and ideas are shared.
Golf Classic
Held annually in August.
More than 300 members and commercial real estate professionals come together each August for a day of connection, competition, and fun at our annual Golf Classic, held at the scenic Cog Hill Golf & Country Club. With great prizes and even better company, the Golf Classic continues to be a highlight of the season.
BOMA/Chicago Expo
Held in October.
The BOMA/Chicago Expo brings fresh energy and innovation to our members—offering building management teams a hands-on look at the latest products, services, and trends shaping commercial real estate.
This complimentary event is free for BOMA/Chicago Building Members and their teams, providing a valuable opportunity to connect with Affiliate Members, discover new solutions, and explore ways to boost efficiency and performance. With great food, specialty drinks, exciting giveaways, and interactive exhibits, the Expo is both informative and fun.
Annual Meeting
Held annually in November.
The Annual Meeting marks the culmination of the year’s key business and networking events, bringing together over 500 BOMA/Chicago members each November. This important gathering offers a chance to elect the new Board of Directors, reflect on the year’s accomplishments, and hear about the strategic direction and priorities for the year ahead. It's a vital moment for members to connect, celebrate successes, and set the stage for continued growth and collaboration.
