2024 Apprenticeship Program
Empowering Tomorrow’s Property Managers Today
The BOMA/Chicago Apprenticeship Program is the first federally registered apprenticeship program in the U.S. specifically for commercial property management. It was created to address hiring challenges within the commercial office industry. This two-year program provides City Colleges of Chicago students with hands-on experience in Chicago's top office buildings. During their final year of college, apprentices work as tenant services representatives in Chicago office buildings, with the opportunity to transition to full-time roles upon graduation.Â
Through partnerships with City Colleges of Chicago and the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, BOMA/Chicago connects property managers to talented students motivated to start meaningful careers in commercial real estate. Participants in this program benefit from ongoing mentorship, industry support, and financial assistance to offset employment and training costs—critical support during challenging times for the industry.Â
This is more than a traditional internship; it’s a strategic hiring approach that builds stronger teams, reduces turnover, and cultivates future industry leaders.Â
