Taxation Committee Meets with Board of Review Commissioner-Elect Samantha Steele

Samantha Steele, Cook County Board of Review Commissioner-Elect, joined BOMA/Chicago’s Taxation Committee on Tuesday, October 4. 

Committee members discussed the importance of reforming the classification system to provide much-needed needed relief for commercial office properties and the businesses our members’ house. The group cited challenges with a sluggish return to office and record vacancy, in combination with policies that have shifted additional property tax burden onto businesses.  

The committee identified several areas of policy alignment with Commissioner-Elect Steele and looks forward to partnership opportunities as we continue our efforts to reform property tax policies.
