BOMA/Chicago Advocates for EV Charging Station Incentives
BOMA/Chicago recently weighed in with the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) recommending that dedicated building member incentives for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations be added to ComEd’s Beneficial Electrification plan. The written testimony, filed on September 22, was presented by BOMA/Chicago Board member and Energy and Sustainability Committee Board Liaison, T.J. Brookover with AmTrust.
ComEd’s Beneficial Electrification plan focuses on incentives for electric vehicles and electric vehicle (EV) chargers, among other electrification initiatives. The plan is currently being reviewed by the ICC and outlines spending of $100M each year for five years. Programs outlined in the plan will start no later than January 1, 2023.
BOMA/Chicago is an intervenor on the case, which allows our organization to argue in front of the ICC for incentive funding to support electrification efforts in downtown commercial office buildings.
